On the 20th of March 2015 we had an eclipse. Now we are not scientists so do not understand all the fundementals that go towards creating this spectical in the sky but basically from what we understand, an eclipse occurs when the earth, moon and sun are directly in line. So, that is what happened on Friday.
We were actually at school when it happened so at 9:30 (when we saw it in the UK) we all left English to go outside and watch it. We say watch but really you aren't supposed to look at it otherwise you could end up blind. Even looking at it through you are phone was said to be dangerous for your eyes, this is why I (Amie) looked away when I took these photos.
Now as you can see from the pictures above our eclipse was just a blob of sunlight and sometimes we could see a crescent moon just underneath. It was a bit disappointing in the end but we decided to share it with you anyway! And it got us out of lesson for like 20 minutes so that is perfectly all right with us!
Amie, Alice & Beth
