Books: More than This by Patrick Ness

First I would like to apologize for the lack of posting recently but I have a ton of inspiration at the minute so expect a few coming out at random from me. Anyhow lets get straight to the point. This book is freaking amazing! Me, Alice and a few of our other friends have decided to do a bit of a book swap which I think is a great idea as you can get other peoples book suggestions but also test out genres and books that you would not necessarily buy of your own back. Nevertheless this book was not actually from any of my friends, but my English teacher  added a book into the mix as she had enjoyed it and thought we would too!

Patrick Ness is a young adult writer and that is very prominent throughout the novel, for this reason I had to actually google a few words in order to define them and understand them in the context. I would like to warn readers that this book is very creepy so should be given an age limit, now I am not a fan of horror so I am not saying it is too over the top scary but instead it is spooky indeed.

To give you a quick summary: A boy drowns. But yet he is alive. He wakes up in a place nor hell, nor heaven but a mysterious place. On his path of discovery he is enlightened by lies and deception. What are they? Who is he? and why the heck is he still alive? Alone he faces confusion but the Truth is not quite what it seems to be.

I realise that was very ominous however I do not want to reveal this book to you as the truth, terror and confusion is amazing. The concept, although hard to grasp is stunning, how Ness thought of this is incredible believe me. It leaves you hooked and you never want to put the book down. The way it is written is just phenomenal *a word which I can't say*! The whole idea of there being more is one we can all relate to but many not in the same way which just adds to the magnificence of this book. You should go buy this book if you are a teenager and are ready for this kind of challenging read. Also one last warning my friend actually started reading this book too and decided not to continue as it was too much for her, just bare that in mind as you decided whether or not to take the plunge.
